Welcome!
You need a support group that understands your challenges as a mom and we’re it! We are the first, largest, and fastest growing support group specifically for ALL at-home mothers. We meet during the day, when moms most need support. Mothers of any age children are welcome – you don’t have to leave the group when your children enter school. We know you still need support as your children grow! We also know that being an at-home mother today means making a financial sacrifice, so dues to our chapter are only $25 per year.
About the Cool Spring Chapter
Who we are…
The MOMS Club® of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Cool Spring Chapter welcomes moms and children living in the Cool Spring Elementary School district to join our group of friendship and support.
What we do…
When you join us, you are joining a community of support for moms and children. We offer:
· Monthly Membership Meetings. Our meetings feature great speakers for the moms (past speakers have included our local Superintendent of Schools, a “Green Builder,” a pediatrician, and an expert in home organization). We also offer free childcare, as well as CoolKids crafts and snacks, for the kids.
· Activities. We host great activities for preschoolers and school-age kids (such as park play dates, tours of the Fire Department, Post Office, and Airport, and trips to the Richmond Zoo, Maymont and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden). For more information on the type and frequency of activities see the “Sample Calendar” link.
· Parties. Throughout the year there are several preschool and school-aged kids’ holiday parties. In previous years these parties have been held at Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and/or Cinco de Mayo.
· Playgroups. We have numerous age-based playgroups for kids, as well as a special “mommy playgroup” for the grown-ups who crave more adult interaction.
· Service Projects. Our projects are designed to engage our kids in helping others. Recent projects have included Easter Baskets for sick children at MCV Hospital and a lemonade stand for Anthem LemonAid benefitting children with cancer.
· Mom’s Night Out. Each month moms gather for a dinner or other event, for example a game night or holiday ornament swap.
· Helping Hands. When members experience stressful times, for example due to the birth of a new baby, the loss of a job, or an illness or hospitalization, our members offer help as needed. This help often comes in the form of several home-cooked meals.
How to join…
If you are interested in joining and live in the Cool Spring Elementary School district, please email us at coolspringmoms@gmail.com. Our Membership Vice President will then contact you, and make sure you receive a new member packet containing our registration forms. Once you return the paperwork and pay the $25 annual dues, you will be an official member of our club and will begin receiving our monthly newsletter, roster, and club-wide emails. If you request a playgroup, you will also be matched with a playgroup based on your schedule and the age(s) of your child(ren). We hope to hear from you soon!
